CYHS handbook
  • Central York's AUP and handbook classifies cyber bullying as posting inappropriate information about a certain person on the Internet or harassing them through any digital format such as text messaging. (9)
  • As far as punishment goes the handbook doesn't have any set punishments but states that it will not tolerate the action. (9)

  • Megan hung herself on October 16, 2006 and died on October 17, 2006
  • She died at thirteen, just weeks away from her birthday
  • Josh Evans, sixteen, was the name of the boy who contacted her about five weeks prior to her death
  • They communicated through MySpace
  • Tina had given Megan many restrictions on MySpace and kept a watchful eye on her daughter
  • Her suicide was brought on by an argument with Josh and the torment of the other people who joined in on the cyber-bullying that day (calling her a slut and fat ass)
  • Six weeks after the death of her daughter, Tina was told that Josh never existed and that it was actually her neighbor Lori Drew, Lori's daughter, and an eight-teen year old employee who worked out of Lori's home.
